Crocheting!!

I never knew before, but now I know! I have officially learned how to crochet the double crochet stitch! It is the only stitch in crocheting that I currently know, but this is the beginning of many things for me.
I find it so shocking as to how much faster it is for me than knitting, however it is more chunky and 'holy' too.

I hope to be adding some of these new designs to my shop soon!

For now, blessings to everyone reading!

"It’s God’s own truth, nothing could be plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you’re from—if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open." - Acts 10:34-35

Christmas time

It is nearly christmas time. A mixture of happy and sad times in America for those who have and those who don't. My heart goes out to those empty and hurting.
I wish everyone would go out of their comfort zone, at least once, and reach out to someone in need, including myself. We could all use some of Christ's love for one another.

I am thankful to get the orders that I received this past week. It has been a busy time knitting away to fulfill these requests by Christmas, but I am happy to do it! It provided me the money I needed to get gifts I wanted to give to people.

Anyways, just stopping by to remind everyone to spread some holiday cheer, even to those you would least expect could need it!

Winter is here!

(Hehe, my sheep trying to stay warm)

I apologize greatly for not keeping up with my blog over the summer time. School caught up with me quickly and this summer was one heck of a summer! I had some exciting times at a few internships, getting ready to graduate in May coming up, but for now winter is here and so is the Holiday season!

I want to thank God for all of the orders He has blessed me with. Every little order I get helps me to pay through college and allows me to connect with a new individual I never would have otherwise known. Praise Him for the success I have had on Etsy these past few months without even asking for it. Thank you to everyone who purchased one of my hand knitted creations:)

Today I have been snowed in trying to stay cozy near the fire knitting and editing photos. It sure is a cold day today in New York! I hope all of you beautiful people are staying warm this winter:)

Valentines Day is Fast Approaching!

Just 3 more days....and it will be Valentines Day! Personally I am excited for this day to come, because it is a wonderful excuse to spend time with my boyfriend of 2 years an 8 months:) I love Tim.

Valentines Day Cowls

There has been much new with Embrace The Lamb. I have updated the inventory with some beautiful new work (perfect for Valentines Day especially) AND created a facebook fan page for it!!

Some things that would make her smile:)  (click on the image to go to the product's page):

Another exciting thing for me is that I learned some new stitches since I've been back at school, and some sweet techniques for knitting.  I started working on my first two shawls too that I cannot wait to finish!
In the mean time, check out one of my most recent creations soon to be on sale in the shop:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well everyone, I hope you are staying warm, dry and safe this winter.  Over here in Michigan, it has been snowing like crazy!  We received a foot  of snow two weeks ago, and then another foot this past week. I pray that sunny skies are on the way soon!

Until next time, God Bless you and thank you for reading!

"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."
-Isaiah 1:18

Making Bread and Dual Toned Cowls :)

There is nothing like homemade bread!

I usually hate cooking, mainly because I am pretty bad at it and don't have patience for it (yet I have patience for knitting :D ).  My boyfriends mother taught us both how to make bread from scratch the other day, and now I really want to make more.  It reminded me of my childhood years when my grandparents owned a well known pizzaria in town.  I spent a lot of my days there and they entertained me by allowing me to play with dough and make my own pizzas.

Below is my journey on making my whole wheat bread from starting with the basics of ingredients, to finishing with warm fresh homemade bread:)

Dual Toned Cowls!

And as for some of my more recent knitting, I am always excited to finish a cowl and then step back and see how beautiful they look on people.  They really really are a wonderful gift and treat to have yourself.
I also updated my shop with a ton more inventory.  I hope people take advantage of it, they are not something to miss out on:)

Below are photos of my most recent Burgundy and Oatmeal Dual Toned Cowl on my beautiful sister.

'Does God delight in witnessing unending tortures? Is He pleased with the groans and shrieks of suffering creatures whom He holds in the flames? Can these horrid sounds be music to the ear of Infinite Love?...that for the sins of a brief life on earth they suffer torment as long as God shall live...
What terrible blasphemy!' - The Great Hope

"I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his ways and live...
For why should you die?" - Ezekiel 33:11.

There it is, you heard it from the Lord Himself.

Cable Knitting for the First time

Cable Knitting!

So I was inspired by a few knitting books at Barns and Nobles the other day to try this thing called Cable Knitting.  Never done it before, and it made no sense to me, until I met another fellow knitter at Barns and Nobles who shed some light on me.  She showed me how you would do it and told me about cable needles, and it all made sense to me after that.  So I found a beautiful stitch online (which you can find here: http://www.knitting-bee.com/knitting-pattern-treasury/cable-knitting-patterns/basket-weave-aran-stitch).  It is not an easy one at all, took double the time and the yarn, but it was well worth it when you see the end result:)

Its not to late to order!

If you would like one of these precious cowls in your choice of color, please contact me at embracethelamb@gmail.com.   Totally custom made to your needs:)

That's all for now, its about Sabbath time, so I'm off!  I'll leave you with a word of Wisdom that I gathered from my devotional this morning, hope you enjoy;)

Bitterness is a root that bears fruit of jealousy, unresolved anger, resentment, etc. A plant grows slowly, but what is in the root will surface in time (Hebrews 12:15).

New Tags & Wrapping!

Printed and Designed New Tags for Embrace :)

I got some inspiration from other fellow knitters and found a solution on how to wrap these wonderful cowl orders.  It is as simple, yet as beautiful as can be.  Thank you God for all of the orders you have given me this season.  I am So thankful for everyone who has ordered already from me!

And it is great to be back home in NY for a short while.  I hope everyone is making the best of their winter break.
